The official start of summer has begun and also coincides with the longest day of the year. At ALPA, we’re ready for some sunshine and warmer temperatures. With new routes and endless vacation opportunities, our 60,000 pilots at 34 U.S. and Canadian airlines are prepared to help your summer take off.
According to Airlines for America, more than 246 million passengers will fly the in the skies this summer—that’s nearly 2.68 million per day! Before you go, check out some TSA passenger travel tips to help guide you through busy U.S. airports.
While you’re busy reviewing your checklist of items to pack, ALPA pilots are reviewing their own checklists to make sure your flight is ready for takeoff. Before every flight, pilots inspect their aircraft top to bottom, personally confirming that critical systems are in working order. Every day of the year, our pilots fly with one goal: the safety of our passengers and our crew, ensuring our ALPA pilots are #TrainedforLife. Be sure to #thankapilot when you land at your destination—there’s nothing our pilots love more than hearing from passengers.
Also, when you’re enjoying your time with friends and family, or the views from 35,000 feet, snap a photo and share it with us and we may feature your photograph on our Instagram or Facebook pages. Don’t forget to follow us on social media to see what our pilots are up to this summer. We’ve got fun events planned around the United States, including our favorite event of the year—Oshkosh 2018.
See you in the skies!
